Pandemic: A Feminist Response
An online responsive art exhibition

2020 March 6 | Festival
Our fifth conference! Feminist Art Fest (previously the Feminist Art Conference) titled Narrative Healing.
A day-long conference of keynote speakers, artists panels and performances in partnership with community organizations and participating artists. Closing keynote performance by esteemed indigenous artist Jeneen Frei Njootli, presented by Native Women in the Arts (NWIA).

2020 March 5 | Screening
FAC partnered with Black Women Film - Canada to present a film night, which included four short films by exhibiting artists from the 2020 Feminist Art Festival, three screenings, and a talkback.

Academic, artist, curator and Iris Founder, Margaret Rodgers moderates a panel around feminist cultural collectivization with a focus on Iris. Artists Laura M. Hair, Judith A. Mason, Mary Ellen McQuay, Janice Taylor-Prebble, Sally Thurlow and Wendy Wallace join her for a discussion and Q & A as they explore the art of feminist cultural collectives.

”The Feminist Art Conference (FAC) is thrilled to present ‘You’re Not Here’, a month-long celebration of feminist art in honor of International Women’s Day. Over 25 participating artists capture their own struggle to find a home in new contexts. They strive to ignite the memory of missing, murdered, and neglected women, including trans women, transfeminine person, and gender nonconforming individuals. In doing so, the artists construct their own narratives and identities, reinserting women’s stories back into art history and contemporary consciousness.”
