Nicole Collins

Since the late 1980’s Toronto-based artist Nicole Collins’ artwork has explored mortality, grief, commemoration, and resilience, primarily through painting, and also with sound and time-based media. The fluid, accumulative nature of pigment-infused wax, its’ capacity to be “decreated”, transformed and reconstructed, existing in flux, then resting in state, is currently occupying her in the project crucible 2020. Collins is Associate Professor of visual and material culture in the Faculty of Art at OCADU
