The first Feminist Art Festival, formally known as the Feminist Art Conference, was held on International Women’s Day in 2013. The event sold out in 2 days and showcased 120 participating artists, indicating a strong need for this kind of programming in Toronto. 

FAC made a commitment to continue holding conferences and in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2020 we did just that. The most recent conference in March of 2020 culminated in a week-long, city-wide series of events that brought together 220 local and international artists and over 900 attendees from around the globe.
