Spoken Word for Social Justice
Facilitators Barbara Erochina, Vanessa McGowan, Andrea Thompson
The Spoken Word for Social Justice workshop will use creative writing and performance to address issues around the intersectionality of feminism and social justice issues. This workshop will be run by the members of the WordSpell collective, and will partner with the Put Food in the Budget campaign www.putfoodinthebudget.ca. There will be a brief presentation on the work of PFITB – addressing the intersection of women and poverty, followed by workshop facilitated by the WordSpell collective that will allow participants to generate, present and receive feedback on spoken word pieces created and shared in a safe, supportive mentoring environment.
