The Art of Acceptance | Gender Fluidity | Stop Suicide
Students at Central Toronto Academy (CTA) continue to lead the way in social justice, activism and interesting, engaging, thought-provoking art. In their most recent project, they set out to create a photographic body of work to support youth who identify as transgender. Students enrolled in AWQ/Photography had the opportunity to work with industry professionals who offered their talent and expertise to the 2015 CTA’s social justice movement “The Art of Acceptance,” with a photo shoot entitled “Gender Fluidity.” Remaining true to CTA’s “HeARTs” department commitment to making students responsible, successful and compassionate individuals, this collaborative photographic series will continue to raise awareness about trans issues through image, fashion, and installation and look forward to participating in the Feminist Arts Conference at OCAD University’s this September.
