Aunt Colyce Apothecary

Kayla Carter is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and healer. She is a Toronto-based black, disabled, femme survivor who is of Jamaican, Cuban, and Maroon ancestry and believes that her existence is not accidental, but very deliberate. Her work focuses on ancestral and intergenerational trauma, shame, healing, queerness, race, gender, disability justice and what it means to be unabashedly human.  As a healer, Kayla’s work focuses on mental health, self-care, self-love ancestral and intergenerational trauma, sustainable forms of healing, and radical reproductive justice/healing.

What is Aunt Colyce Soul Made Products?

ACSMP is a self-care line that is dedicated to creating, quality, mindful, intentional, soulful, conscious and accessible creations. Every single item and aspect of ACSMP is soulfully curated and created by me.  All of the products are handmade and always made by me in small batches to make sure the recipes are the best quality. All of the products in Aunt Colyce are vegan (unless otherwise stated) and all natural. There are no sulfates, parabens and only fresh ingredients are used. The ingredients are all fair trade and organic. Aunt Colyce also encompasses print, blogs, video, music and podcasts.

Aunt Colyce was created for those of us that are all but forgotten in this world. Aunt Colyce is a space where we can remind ourselves of our own humanity. Aunt Colyce is a space where we can imagine what our own healing can look like, and then find ways to move a little closer. I created Aunt Colyce for those of us who have forgotten how special and amazing we are. I created Aunt Colyce so that we never forget how special and amazing we are. I created Aunt Colyce for those of us who have a hard time getting out of bed. I created Aunt Colyce for those of us who navigate, travel too and perceiver in unsafe spaces as a means of survival.
