GWST 4521: Feeling Queerly About Feminist Art is a fourth year class at York University. The class is comprised of 24 students coming from different disciplines that range from Gender Women’s Studies, Art History, Studio Visual Arts, Film Studies, English, and Sexuality Studies. The class is developed and taught by Allyson Mitchell from the FAG Feminist Art Gallery. We are all interested in what this class offers potential for learning and experiencing art and politics through an applied feminism in a university setting. The class is a mix of reading/discussing, visits from practicing artists, field trips, and making art in class. In this panel, we will present 3 pivotal problematics that we in the process of working through in class and through assignments.
